A comfy, winter, village is subject to a horrific murder. The victim is a user of the app "Real Girl", an expensive gacha game. The suspects: the three girls from the game he plays!

Interview suspects and witnesses, gather clues, and find out who was behind the act.

  • Is implied to be promiscuous by Tsundere.

  • She tries to push blame on Tsundere because she thinks she’s super violent and mean.

Setting: 

• Small Town far away from the police station. 
• Middle of winter and the roads are iced over so the police can’t get there until morning.
• Locations:

Outline:

• Beginning: 

You text the victim to meet you at the park. You always had a thing for the victim since you were younger but lately, he’s becoming more distant caring only about his gacha girl pulls and anime. You decided to fight against your stoic nature and finally confess your feelings to him. Maybe your feelings will finally pull him out of his downward spiral. You reach the park, but you find to your surprise that he’s been murdered. You also find to your surprise three other girls who are equally surprised. 

You talk to the girls and explain that your friend, the victim, had really hit rock bottom and actually started pulling gachas from a relatively new service that creates physical visualizations of women from a variety of popular anime. It’s explained that not only is it very expensive to pull these real anime girls but the girls are also frowned on as cringey and weird because they aren’t considered “real girls.” 

From here you get introduced to each of the girls with the Tsundere immediately accusing you, the Dandere being too shocked to stick around instead choosing to run away, and the Deredere girl bawling her eyes out. 

There’s a scene transition that explains that you manage to calm the girls down and that the deredere girl went back to the victim’s room. You called the cops but because of the snow, they won’t be able to get to the park until the morning so you should try figuring out who killed the guy you were into while you still have the chance. You immediately suspect the anime girls because they were the other first ones on the scene and you have an inherent bias against them since you find them creepy.

• Middle:

You’ve now resolved yourself to finding the culprit and have 3 separate places to go. You can go to any of these locations at your leisure. If you go to the park you can find items pertaining to the murder (murder wound, signs of struggle, maybe murder weapon). You can also talk to the tsundere in the park and she’ll give you her impression of the other girls as well as give you her alibi. In Town Square, you can talk to a variety of witnesses who will tell you an unbiased version of the relationship between the girls and the victim and confirm some alibis. They don’t seem to consider the girls real either and discount their existence. This causes Dandere girl a great amount of pain which she tries to hide. You can also talk to dandere girl who gives you her alibi, impressions, etc. Then last but not least is the Victim’s house where you can read the victim's journal and also talk to the deredere girl about the same stuff as before. Each location can also have potential evidence to pick up.

• End:

You should now have entered the three different locations and gathered enough clues to gather all the girls to absolve yourself of blame and find the true culprit. You can now gather all the girls in the Park and explain your reasoning. If you choose the right clues that lead to the dandere then you win otherwise the three anime girls will call you out on faulty logic and then you’ll be sentenced. This will lead to a redo which will let you look for more clues. In the end when you follow all the clues that lead to Dandere she’ll explain her real motive. It hurt, but she could handle the other anime girls and the feeling of being replaceable and a fake in the eyes of other people in town, but when she realized that the victim might actually love the kuudere and get together with a real girl she knew it might mean her being replaced. She basically went full yandere and decided that if she couldn’t have him no one could. It’s at this point that she tries to kill the kuudere but is stopped by the other anime girls who save her. It’s later explained that the company behind these real anime girls was trying to cover up several similar instances, but the vast number of them eventually made this impossible. Real talks were starting to begin. Were these girls actually belonging to society and if they were sentient enough to love and be scorned were they, real girls, after all?

      • Talks about how he feels isolated.
      • Talks about his feelings for Joan.
      • Talks about how he feels about each of the gacha girls.
        • He feels sorry for Aoi because she feels isolated and only has him.
        • He admires Shiina but is a bit afraid of her because like her character in the show she expresses her emotions violently. He compares how strong she is to the other girls who are both very weak.
        • He says he’s indifferent to Mahiru. He likes the anime where she’s from and he was always attracted to her but he didn’t feel attached to her like the other two. She was just a random draw. This does make him feel guilty though because she loves him more than the other two combined.
    • Mahiru’s alibi and account of the fight earlier.
    • Mahiru tells you that to top off all the horrible things that happened today Shiina sharpened her sword on her bed again. She talks about how not only does it leave noticeable metal shavings on her bed but it always takes 20 minutes to finish so Mahiru can’t get in bed when she’s doing it.
  • Town Square:
    • Picture of Mahiru and the clock from Gossips. You can ask to take a picture which will add the picture to your photos.
    • Gossips telling you about how creepy the gacha girls are.
    • Aoi fake Alibi: She says she met up with Ethan near the park entrance but had to go to the bathroom around 8:10. After exiting the bathroom Ethan had left the entrance so she went looking for him and by 8:25 before she could find him she found the other gacha girls and decided to look for him with them.
    • Aoi’s account of the prior argument and why Ethan’s death freaked her out so much since he was the only one who seemed to treat her like a real person.

    • 7:30 Shiina starts sharpening her sword on Mahiru’s bed because she knows Mahiru hates having the metal shavings on her bed. This act takes about 20 minutes.
    • 7:50, Shiina, feeling dejected in the house by herself,  leaves to meet up with Aoi and Ethan at the park.
    • 8:20, Shiina reaches the park.
    • 8:25, Shiina meets up with other anime girls.
    • 8:30, Ethan is found dead.

    • 7:25, Aoi is at home with Ethan and he confides his feelings about Joan to her when he gets her text.

    • Unknown to the Player: 8:15, Aoi passionately stabs Ethan in the back while hugging him after he affirms that he’ll tell Joan how he feels.
    • Unknown to the Player: 8:20, Aoi finishes washing the blood off her hands in the water fountain. Then runs to the bathroom somewhere else in the park.
    • 8:25, Aoi meets up with other anime girls.
    • 8:30, Ethan is found dead.
  • Mahiru
    • 7:20, Mahiru has a bit of a spat with Ethan because she thinks he favors Aoi. He tells her he’s going to the park and leaves.
    • 7:25, Mahiru disses Aoi and then argues with Shiina.
    • 7:30, Feeling bad she leaves for Town Square to buy presents to apologize.
    • 8:00, Mahiru is at the Town Square buying a present for Ethan and the girls. (Seen by the gossip women and they have a sneak picture they took)
    • 8:25, Mahiru reaches the park and Meets up with the other anime girls.
    • 8:30, Ethan is found dead.

PC Joan left: *It was understandable. I was about to confess my feelings. I’d known Ethan since we were young. I’m not sure when my feelings for him became like this. As far as I could remember I’d always been in love with him. Lately, Ethan had fallen into some unhealthy habits and he barely left the house now. Even putting the hermit behavior aside, there were other things that made me so worried…* 

PC Joan left: I don't see Ethan around here. I texted him to meet me here around this time. Should I text him again?

PC Joan left:  No, that'll probably be annoying. I should just wait

Nar: (Time passes)

PC Joan left: Ok, this is strange. Where is he?

PC Joan left: I know he's been obsessed with all the gacha stuff and anime lately but even then he hasn't become such a shut-in he'd stand me up. Right?

PC Joan left: I should text him (Texts)

Nar: (No response)

PC Joan left: What the hell is going on?! Why isn't he responding?!

PC Joan left: I don't think he's going to show up at this rate. I'm just going to head back home

PC Joan left: Huh?

PC Joan left: Wait. Is that -

PC Joan left: Oh no

PC Joan left: He's-

PC Joan left: He's dead

PC Joan left: Calm down for one moment!

PC Joan left: *There they were, the three reasons I was so worried about Ethan in the first place. They looked normal at a glance, but the truth was these were the virtual anime women Ethan had been so obsessed with lately. They were from a new and very expensive gacha game called Real Girl. An ironic name since they were far from “real”. It took a bit of doing, but I’d finally managed to calm them down enough to actually get a few words out of them.*

PC Joan left: Ok. What the hell are you three doing here?

Shiina shiina right: I was here to meet Ethan

PC Joan left: How did you know he was going to be here? He said he was going to meet me

Shiina shiina right: Wh-Wha-?? What are you trying to imply?!

--*starts to get aggressive*

--*Aoi aoi runs off from panic*

Mahiru mahiru right right: I-I-I-I- *sniff* I-I *cries again*

PC Joan left: *I was devastated but I couldn’t just leave Ethan there. I called the police but they couldn’t get to the body until the morning because of all the ice* PC Joan left: *I just knew one of those “real” gacha girls had to be responsible for this… I don’t know if it was anguish or vengeance, but I decided that I couldn’t wait for the cops* 

PC Joan left: *I couldn’t wait until morning. Even if it meant I had to do it myself I’d find out who did this*

PC Joan left: So what exactly happened before you saw Ethan dead in the park?

Aoi aoi right: I met Ethan near the entrance of the park but then I had to go to the bathroom…

PC Joan left: Around what time did you leave for the bathroom?

Aoi aoi right: I couldn’t find him so I went looking… I found the other girls but then… he… *Visibly upset*
